While discussing President Trump’s defense of “due process” on MSNBC on Monday, analyst Donny Deutsch told a panel that supporters who shared Trump’s views aren’t as “evolved” as anti-Trump forces.
“There is part of this country, both women and men that think there’s an overreaction,” Deutsch began.
“I think that [Trump] preys into that very ignorant, frightening thought that both a lot of men and women in parts of this – they’re not at this table and most of them are not in this city,” he said.
The analyst went on to describe the people he was discussing as “not as evolved” as himself and the people sitting on the panel.
He immediately walked it back, instead saying that Trump supporters were “not as sane.”
“It’s a very primal and a very disgusting point of view,” Deutsch added.
Trump questioned the quick judgements of the #MeToo movement on Saturday, calling for “due process” for the accused:
Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused – life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?
