Security cameras aboard a public transit bus in Istanbul, Turkey, showed the moment a man allegedly shouted at a female university student over her choice of clothes before physically assaulting her.
The incident occurred on June 14 onboard a minibus in Istanbul’s Pendik district, in the southwest part of the city.
Asena Melisa Sağlam, 21, says she was seated near the back of the bus when the man seated behind her began to make angry remarks to her about her choice of apparel: denim shorts and a baggy white shirt.
“From the moment I sat down he was making these remarks ‘You dress like this during Ramadan? You should feel ashamed to be dressed like that,’” Sağlam told Turkish news outlet Hurriyet.
Sağlam says she put her headphones back in after conversing with the man. Security footage shows what happened next as the man rose to his feet and then struck her in the face with a backhanded slap.

A 24-year-old Iranian man has reportedly been arrested in connection with a knife attack in Sweden not long after being released from prison, where he was serving time for his involvement in the live streaming of a gang rape.
Yup, lots to unpack here.
According to Fria Tider, police responded to the report of a knife attack in Uppsala on Friday evening.
When they arrived, the outlet states, they found the suspect “who turned out to be the same 24-year-old Iranian who recently was convicted of involvement in the acclaimed Facebook rape.”
The man, in an obvious attempt to diversify his rap sheet, was allegedly attacking his own family with a knife. He allegedly proceeded to attack a police officer, landing him with charges of assault, attempted aggravated assault and assaulting a police officer.
Fria Tider further reports that the man, who is a Swedish citizen, was sentenced for aggravated defamation, minor drug offences and failure to report a rape.
The latter charge came in connection with his live streaming of his two friends in the act of raping a Swedish girl in an apartment. As The Sun reports, the horrific rape took place over three hours and was only stopped by the arrival of police, who had been tipped off by a viewer.
Many leftists continue to applaud countries that welcomed migrants from both the Middle East and Africa but continue to ignore the crime that follows them.

Facebook has repeatedly removed this video showing a young British woman, Rachel Large, exposing how Islam is being appeased by liberals.
Listen as she describes exactly how liberals are using the term Islamaphobia in order to silence dissent against those who continue to expose the radical ideology of hatred.
Manal al-Sharif was 14 when she burned her brother’s Back Street Boys cassettes, then her mother’s fashion magazines. She gave up drawing human figures and reading her prized Agatha Christie novels — forbidden, she had learned, under the puritanical strain of Islam sweeping through her native Saudi Arabia at the time. All kinds of things were forbidden for women and girls, she had also learned: no plucking your bushy eyebrows, no parting your hair fashionably to the side, no revealing your face in public.
The one thing she could not destroy was a plastic bag of family photographs that her mother had stashed in her bedroom. She found them, years later, after her mother had died. There was a photo of herself, in a red dress for Eid; another of her mother, in a calf-length skirt she had stitched herself; another of her dad, barechested, for the hajj.
“I’m so happy she hid them from me,” al-Sharif said the other day, scrolling through the images she had uploaded on her phone. “I thought we didn’t have any.”
Al-Sharif, 38, has undergone a radical change of heart since those Salafi firebrand days. She is now best known for challenging the laws and mores that keep women down in Saudi Arabia, including what she considers the kingdom’s infantilising restrictions on the right of women to drive.
Her first book, Daring to Drive: A Saudi Woman’s Awakening, published this week by Simon & Schuster, is a memoir of her political coming of age. It is equally a portrait of tumult and tyranny in Saudi Arabia over the last four decades — and the kingdom’s vexing relationship with the United States.
I met al-Sharif in Norway, at a human rights conference in the capital, Oslo, in late May, as the Trump family was visiting her country. Speaking to women in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Ivanka Trump called the country’s progress on women’s rights “very encouraging,” even as she acknowledged that “there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
Al-Sharif found the appraisal insulting. She pointed to the case of her friend Mariam al-Otaibi, detained since April for her campaign against a policy that requires a woman to obtain the permission of a male guardian to work, study or travel, regardless of how old she is. Al-Sharif wears a blue plastic wristband in support of the campaign to end the guardianship system. “#IAmMyOwnGuardian,” the wristband reads.
“What type of progress in women’s rights?” she said. “I wish she was more specific so I wouldn’t feel insulted. If you don’t want to support us, just stay quiet. Don’t praise. You’re making it worse for us.”
Al-Sharif was born at home in 1979, the second daughter of a Saudi father and a Libyan mother. They lived in a cramped apartment in Mecca, Saudi Arabia’s holiest and most religiously conservative city. Her father drove a taxi. Her mother stitched their clothes from designs she had copied from fashion magazines. There wasn’t always running water. There was a lot of abuse: her father beating her mother, her sister beating her, and later her first husband beating her. Lots and lots of beatings.
Her generation was bound by a rigid form of Islam. She remembers religious leaders coming to lecture on her school’s public address system. Leaflets were passed out in the streets, prescribing what and what not to do.
An elderly aunt who had always worn colourful traditional Saudi gowns suddenly began to cloak herself in a head-to-toe black abaya, because her children told her to. Her mother took down from the bedroom wall a decorative hand-stitched canvas of a woman, bathing. Photos vanished from their apartment.
Being true to that sort of doctrine, as she recalled it, required hating the infidel. “My generation, born in the ‘70s and ‘80s, we were all radicalised,” she said. “You give up so much to follow these rules. It gets under your skin.” It left her skin, slowly.
Then there was September 11. She was appalled that the extremist doctrine she grew up in had spurred 19 hijackers — 15 from Saudi Arabia — to kill so many people. She had had enough of the hate. Inside Saudi Arabia, the rules were — and remain — particularly onerous for women.
Al-Sharif needed her father’s permission to enter university; she studied computer science. She needed his permission to apply for a job; she was hired as an information security specialist at Aramco, the Saudi oil company. She needed his permission to travel abroad for a business trip, and to get a passport.
Daily Mail reports that Barber was initially ecstatic to rehome Mohammed, who claimed to be a persecuted Sundanese political refugee. The Muslim migrant told Barber that he was granted asylum status after sneaking into the UK through people-smugglers and, after being detained by Italian authorities, freely traveled to Britain as a refugee. Soon, however, the truth surfaced.
Barber explained that Mohammed became belligerent and aggressive, trashed her home, began smuggling drugs into his room, ran up her internet bill downloading excessive amounts of pornography, and continuously abused the taxpayer-funded medical and welfare benefits he was so generously given. Mohammed informed Barber that although she owned the house, he was going to “treat her like his mother,” which entailed her acting as his personal chef, maid, and dry-cleaner…
Then came the kicker. When Mohammed discovered that Barber was going to publish a memoir about her ordeal to “show readers you don’t have to be a saint to take in a refugee — you just have to have a spare room,” he flew into a rage and mocked her stupidity by confessing that he’s not a real refugee but a welfare leech who comes from a wealthy family.
Imagine my surprise (spoiler: I’m not). Time and again we are learning about these kinds of abuses in Europe and around the world. While there are people suffering from the war in Syria, hundreds if not thousands of “refugees” are abusing the system. So-called children turn out to be grown men, who go on to harass, harm, and sometimes even kill the families that welcome them into their homes.
This man admits he only came to Europe to abuse their benefits. Because if he stayed in his homeland, you know, he’d actually have to work for his food.
Yet because of the political correctness and stupidity of England and the rest of Europe, leeches like Mohammed are destroying their societies.
But will the people of Europe—and their leaders—stand up to this kind of insanity? Not likely.
Sadly, she gained no wisdom from the experience that will do her any service, ultimately affirming that she’s hoping to take in yet another refugee in the future. In fact, Barber seems to think that vowing to only rehome “much more deserving” migrants will prevent this and worse from happening again.
Like most liberals, Barber built up this fantasy in her mind of taking in a poor, destitute family of sweet, innocent people. People who would worship this wise, liberal woman for her generosity. Even when faced with the reality that such people do not exist, she clings to this obsession.
The UN Refugee Agency reports at the time of this article’s publishing that only 6.5 percent of migrant arrivals are Syrian. A whopping 72.5 percent are men, although this figure doesn’t take into account the recent report from Sweden which confirmed that age testing proves 75 percent of child refugees are also adults.
It’s like an entire Continent of people are marching off a cliff into oblivion. They willingly expose themselves to death and destruction, just to virtue signal their righteousness.
Despite the interviewer accurately pointing out that 70% of potential threats reported to the UK's counter-terrorism apparatus are Islamic, incumbent Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott (Labour Party) seems to insist that our counter-terrorism resources should be spent on right-wing extremists in order to keep things "balanced".
Well, I'm sure some balance WOULD make sense... if right-wing extremists were committing an equal number of the terrorist attacks in the UK. All Abbott seems to care about, however, is making sure that the UK continues to ignore possible Islamist radicals.
Labour MP Rushanara Ali has called for marches by extremist groups be banned – but only singled out right wing demonstrators in her call for legislation.
The Labour Member of Parliament for Bethnal Green and Bow made the comments Monday evening during an appearance on Sky News. Ms. Ali referred specifically to the English Defence League and the far right group Britain First saying that demonstrations from both groups should be banned in London.
Ali said that the government needed to “redouble their efforts” when it came to tackling extremism.
“We have seen over the years many marches here in the East End and around the country by organisations like the English Defence League and more recently by British [Britain] First,” she said.
Without naming names Ali said that certain individuals were stoking up hatred. Earlier Monday evening, UK political blogger Guido Fawkes singled out EDL founder Tommy Robinson, comparing him to Islamic hate preacher Anjem Choudary who is currently in prison for links to Islamic radicals.

Police say an airport officer was stabbed in the neck Wednesday morning at Bishop International Airport in Flint.
The officer was taken to the hospital. Michigan State Police said the officer is in critical condition.
Police identified the injured officer as Lt. Jeff Neville. Bishop International Airport was evacuated and is closed.
Police said a suspect has been taken into custody. The airport released the following statement:
"All passengers are safe and are being evacuated at this time. Please check with your airline for potential cancellations or delays."
The FBI is leading the investigation. The Flint City Hall began operating under heightened security in an abundance of caution after the incident.
"Right now we are still awaiting more information about the situation at Bishop Airport this morning," Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said. "My thoughts and prayers are with all of our law enforcement officers who work to service and protect us each and every day. I want the public to know that several agencies are involved and working to ensure the situation is under control. However, at this time we are taking extra precautions just to be safe."
Are these the Islamic clowns the US taxpayer is funding? Pretty sure that bad boy needs to be bolted to something.
Guns, knives, and mace are flying off the shelves in Germany. With millions of young Arab and African males entering the country, the peace has been broken. No one walks about at night except in groups. Rape and other crimes have crept into the countrysides. No one feels safe any longer. With the rise of Sharia politics, civil war is now inevitable...
According to Hammou Laamrani...
The Arab region is an example of climate-security risks and climate-induced migration. Climate change can contribute to a cycle of fragility by affecting the availability of water, food, land, and other crucial resources. Scarcities and price spikes add to existing challenges that trigger conflicts and violence. Hammou Laamrani, long-standing field expert, and Advisor to the GIZ for 'Adaptation to Climate Change in the Water Sector in the MENA Region' emphasizes why climate change needs to be linked to human security. To successfully implement development projects, one has to realize that climate is an issue of security, stability and prosperity.
"Actually, the Arab region is a lab example of impacts of climate change and environment change is impacting livelihoods: mass migration and conflicts. Implications not only on the Arab region but on peace and stability worldwide, this is a reality. The region is in a development impasse, by all means. Climate change is now surely going to be triggering and magnifying those existing risk factors for human security and for peace and security worldwide.
We have seen over the last few years, climate-induced migration internally and that has triggered conflict and civil wars. Those have in final impacts on migration beyond the borders – be it in the region or outside the region. I think we are witnessing today a first generation of climate impacts on livelihoods with implications on peace and stability in the region and beyond the region.
So far, in terms of policy, climate change is more of a development issues. It is not yet framed in the nexus climate change and security. We have not seen the same level of engagements to put climate change at the same level of the fight against terrorists for example which is a security issue. In that way, we have to work on awareness raising at the policy level but also at the practitioner’s level. We also need to bring together the regions and see what are the learning opportunities between the Arab region and other regions that are already ahead of us in linking climate change to security and stability.
The third element is that we need a new generation of competences and capacities that can move from the framing of the nexus “climate change and security” to implementation and do things on the ground – and do them with this perspective of: climate change is not only a development issue – it is also a security, stability and prosperity issue in the region."
Recently a protest held by refugees against “monotonous” Italian food was “excessive”, especially at a time when thousands of Italians go hungry, the president of a police organization told The Local.
“There are thousands of Italians living in poverty and who aren’t even eating one meal a day, let alone two or three,” he said.
For two days, a group of about 40 asylum-seekers staying at a refugee centre in the Veneto province of Belluno refused to eat the “pasta with tomato sauce, bread and eggs” meals they were given and called to be fed food from their own countries, Libero Quotidiano reported.
To reinforce their point, they blocked a street with a wooden bench, put their lunch on the ground along with bags of clothes and threatened to leave the centre in La Secca, a hamlet in Ponte nelle Alpi.
They reportedly said “we do not eat this stuff”.
The refugees, said to have been staying at the centre for the past four months, also reportedly slashed the tires of cars belonging to staff working there in protest against living conditions.
Sam, a migrant from Gambia who has been staying at a centre on the outskirts of Rome for almost a year, told The Local that the food, which mainly consists of pasta, “is not good” and that some have started making their own meals.
“We need the diet from our country,” he said.
Over 28 Million Africans have been enslaved in the Muslim world during the past 14 centuries While much has been written concerning the Transatlantic slave trade, surprisingly little attention has been given to the Islamic slave trade across the Sahara, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.
While the European involvement in the Transatlantic slave trade to the Americas lasted for just over three centuries, the Arab involvement in the slave trade has lasted fourteen centuries, and in some parts of the Muslim world is still continuing to this day. A comparison of the Muslim slave trade to the American slave trade reveals some interesting contrasts.
While two out of every three slaves shipped across the Atlantic were men, the proportions were reversed in the Muslim slave trade. Two women for every man were enslaved by the Muslims.
While the mortality rate for slaves being transported across the Atlantic was as high as 10%, the percentage of slaves dying in transit in the Transsahara and East African slave trade was between 80 and 90%!
While almost all the slaves shipped across the Atlantic were for agricultural work, most of the slaves destined for the Muslim Middle East were for sexual exploitation as concubines, in harems, and for military service.
A town in Austria has refused to accept any more “refugees” after three migrants gang-raped a 15-year-old girl.
The young girl was making her way home on the evening of April 25th when she was grabbed and “brutally raped,” according to reports. The suspects are two men from Somali and one Afghan.
The town’s mayor responded to the incident by informing the government that Tulln would not be accepting any more refugees until further notice.
“For me, there is zero tolerance against asylum seekers who abuse their guest countries law. In view of what these criminals have done to the girl, the full severity of the law is required,” said Peter Eisenschenk.
Freedom Party Councillor Christian Hafenecker questioned why authorities did not inform the public about the incident “for almost a month,” putting people’s safety at risk.
“Countless cases already show that the migration of predominantly Muslim men under the cover of the asylum becomes an uncontrollable danger. It is therefore not at all clear why the Tulln’s population was not promptly warned by the police,” he said.
This is by no means the first time that Austria has been subjected to the “cultural enrichment” that newly arrived migrants bring.
An Iraqi refugee who raped a 10-year-old boy at a swimming pool in Vienna later had his conviction overturned because judges found that he believed the child had consented.
The migrant told arresting officers that his assault of the boy was a “sexual emergency” because he had not had sex in 4 months, and didn’t even try to flee the scene of the assault because he thought it was perfectly acceptable behavior.
Despite raping a 10-year-old boy, the refugee’s case will be re-tried and he is likely to get away with a lighter sentence simply because he claims that the child consented to the horrific attack.
Watch as a group of Muslim youth throw stones and pelt police attempting to enter one of their so-called no go zones.
The Muslim youth repeatedly throw stones and other objects that police that attempted to enter areas that are under the control of Muslims. This is just another example of how the Muslim youth are being used as front-line soldiers in order to keep out non-Muslims.
'He was shouting, I want to kill all Muslims'
A man has died and several people have been injured after a van ploughed into pedestrians near a north London mosque.
Khalid Amin, an eyewitness, describes what he saw happen.
By Kay Wilson:
Dear Mr Khan,
This is not the first time I have written to you concerning events with a Jihadist and/or unbalanced agenda taking place in London. I hope that this time, my letter will warrant a response from you.
As a British-born survivor of Islamic terrorism, I am both flabbergasted and frankly outraged that you continue to give the green light to Islamic terrorism in London, by either telling your constituents that “terrorism is part and parcel of living in a big city,” and now, by ignoring a petition of almost 6,000 signatories protesting the Al-Quds Day March to be held in the city of London this Sunday, 18th June.
It hardly need be said, that your lack of action in allowing people who support Jihad to march through London, also stands to ignite antisemitism against the British Jewish community and more unabated hatred against Israel, the sole refuge for Jewish people in the Middle East.
I have never met you, so I am unable to ascertain if your lack of leadership concerning Islamic terrorism is due to personal passivity, disinterest or something else. Whatever it is, your abdication from your responsibility as Mayor of London, is not only deeply grievous to myself – a survivor of this Islamic terror the marchers endorse, but is also a slap in the face to the families of London’s and Manchester victims – whose blood has only just been mopped up from London’s streets.
Religious leader Yousif al-Khoei said it was crucial to address the rise of Islamophobia and he condemned the media for its portrayal of the attack at Finsbury Park Mosque in London on Monday morning, stating that because the attacker was white he was not automatically called a terrorist.
Abu Hamza al-Masri, also known as Mustafa Kamel Mustafa or the Hook Hand, is an Egyptian cleric who came to the United Kingdom as a student and later joined the Finsbury Park Mosque as its imam in 1997. In an article in the Telegraph in 2007, Mahmood Hasan, a long-term trustee of the Finsbury mosque is quoted as describing Abu Hamza as someone who initially appeared to be God-sent. He was fluent in his English and Arabic linguistic skills and had adequate theological training. Further, he was willing to take on the role of the cleric at a meagre salary. However, over time the Egyptian Imam slowly revealed his real beliefs.
Hamza’s radical Islamic views soon made the Finsbury mosque a centre with strong links to extremism. From inside the premises of the mosque, Hamza preached a violent theology and attracted disciples both from within and from outside the UK. He opened up the mosque for other extremists to reside. Allegedly, Hamza did not just propagate extremist and violent messages but also trained his followers in the usage of ammunitions. In 2002, intelligence sources had revealed that weapons training using Kalashnikov AK-47s took place inside the Finsbury mosque.
Hamza’s views were supportive of Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban and the 9/11 attacks in the United States. In January 2002, Hamza was quoted as saying, “I ask God to grant long life to Osama Bin Laden.” The previous month, when he was asked if there was an earthly government he admired, he is believed to have replied the “coming Taliban hopefully.” He is also believed to have had links with the Al-Qaeda. Reportedly, he turned the Finsbury mosque into a recruitment centre for the Al-Qaeda, particularly for economic migrants from North Africa and the Middle East, who later travelled to training camps in Afghanistan.
In his lectures, Hamza criticised Muslim youth for enjoying the comforts of British life, while their brothers around the world suffered. He propagated the need for the establishment of a Khilafah or Islamic state and spoke of the need for training in violence to carry out Jihad. Over time he created some well-known names in the history of Islamic terrorism including the shoe bomb terrorist Richard Reid and the July 7 bomber Germaine Lindsay.
In 2003, the British police did a thorough investigation of the mosque and Abu Hamza was jailed in 2006 and later deported to the United States. Following the raid and the closure, the mosque was reopened in 2005 and ever since the trustees have been involved in brushing away the image of extremism that is still firmly attached to the mosque. Sunday’s attack, however, has once again brought to surface a reminder of the mosque’s links to extremism.
FINSBURY PARK Mosque, which has a history of links to terrorism worldwide, has tried in recent years to change its image to the outside world under new management.
The mosque, which is housed in a five-storey building next to Finsbury Park tube station in the London borough of Islington in north London, was opened in 1994 in a ceremony attended by Prince Charles.
The mosque became notorious when Abu Hamza al-Masri became the imam in 1997. Hamza, who had one eye and no hands and used hook devices, lied that the injuries were suffered when he fought for al-Qaeda against Russian forces in Afghanistan.
He preached a strict interpretation of Islamic law and was outspoken about acts of terrorism.
In a sermon he spoke about the need for Jihad: “Allah likes those who believe in Him who kill those who do not believe in Him. Allah likes that. So if you Muslims don’t like that because you hate the blood, there is something wrong with you.”
The mosque became a meeting point for militant Islam’s most notorious figures. Zacarias Moussaoui, 9/11’s alleged 20th hijacker, and shoe bomber Richard Reid, were among those to attend the mosque.
Hazam was suspended from Finsbury Park Mosque in April 2002 and sacked in February 2003 by the Charity Commission, a government body that regulates charities in England and Wales.
More than 100 officers from London Metropolitan Police raided and shut down the mosque in 2003 over the alleged bioterrorism plot to attack the London Underground rail system.
Abu Hamza al-Masri has been found guilty of supporting terrorism by a court in New York and sentenced to life in prison. But who is the man who became the most prominent radical cleric in the United Kingdom?
Born Mustafa Kamel Mustafa in Alexandria, Egypt, on 15 April 1958, Abu Hamza was the son of a naval officer and a primary school headmistress. He initially studied civil engineering before leaving for England in 1979.
In London, one of his first jobs was as a nightclub bouncer. He married a British woman who he says encouraged him to embrace Islam.
"I took time off from the clubs and I enjoyed it," he said at his trial in the US.
He decided to resume his studies at Brighton Polytechnic and gained a civil engineering degree, joining the Institution of Civil Engineers where he remained a member until 1994.
His marriage rapidly broke down but he later remarried and had seven children.
One of Abu Hamza's first major engineering contracts took him to the Royal Military Training Academy at Sandhurst. Technical drawings of the college were still in his home when he was arrested in 2004.
In the early 1980s the young Abu Hamza started to show an interest in Islam and politics. He was heavily influenced by the Iranian revolution.
Some Muslim thinkers were calling for Islamic states in Islamic lands. They had a military face in the Mujahideen fighters who, backed by the US, emerged to oppose the Soviet Union's occupation of Afghanistan.
What the van driver did was disgusting and this is never the answer, you cannot run people over in the street. but that shouldn't stop facts being pointed out. Preachers from Finsbury Park mosque have called called for the death of the West and our way of life for years.
An amazing moment was caught on mobile phone video when a giant hulk of a man went beast mode on a bunch of Somali refugees who were picking fights with revelers in Australia.
There have been several reports stating that the man doing the damage is the YouTube star and body builder, The Golden One.
The reports state The Golden One has been on vacation there but hasn't made a YouTube video about the incident because he doesn't want more attention drawn to it as it may get him in legal trouble. He is from Sweden and talks about the migrant crisis and the issues facing his homeland.
We can not confirm this is indeed The Golden One, these are just Internet rumors at this point. Either way, that's one epic badass.
A prisoner who was allegedly tortured and had a disturbing ISIS slogan branded onto his forehead by his radical Islamic cellmate will walk away with $400,000 in compensation.
Michael Sean O’Keefe sued the state after the alleged razorblade torture left him fighting for his life when he was paired with then 18-year-old Bourhan Hraichie at Kempsey Prison in NSW.
He suffered a broken sternum, was put into an induced coma and was left with deep scars following the alleged prison cell torment, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Correctional Services settled the matter outside court and Mr O'Keefe - who was a former Army Reservist -was awarded between $400,000 and $500,000, a criminal lawyer told the publication.
His alleged attacker Hriachie charged with four counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and will face court on Monday.
Mr O’Keefe was released from Kempsey Prison after he spent several months behind bars for domestic violence offences.
Turkish police have fired water cannon and rubber pellets to disperse a crowd gathered in central Istanbul for the city's annual gay pride parade.
The police appeared intent on stopping the crowd gathering near Taksim Square on Sunday, a cameraman for the Reuters news agency reported.
Al Jazeera's Serpil Karacan, reporting from Istanbul, said opposition members of parliament formed a human chain to block the riot police.
Images and videos posted on social media showed several people carrying gay pride flags running away while being fired upon by a water cannon mounted on an armoured police vehicle.
As of 1400 GMT, the protesters have left Taksim Square and the nearby Istikal Street, and the city is "back to normal" according to our correspondent.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, photojournalist Bradley Secker, who is at the scene in Taksim, said the gay pride marchers were "puzzled" by the police action, given that a similar parade on June 21 went on in Istanbul without any incident.
According to the AFP news agency, police took action against the crowd when demonstrators began shouting slogans accusing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of "fascism".
No official comment has so far been issued by the government, but there were reports that the parade was stopped as it was Ramadan.
However, Karajan said the parade, which has been held over the past 13 years without police intervention, occured peacefully during Ramadan last year.
Taksim is a traditional rallying ground for demonstrators and saw weeks of unrest in 2013.
Another Islamic school is having its taxpayer funding cut off after a review uncovered serious financial irregularities.
The Islamic College of South Australia had fought Education Minister Simon Birmingham's decision in February to withdrawn $4 million in annual funding.
However the Adelaide school, with classes from kindergarten to year 12, has lost that battle, joining Muslim schools in Canberra and western Sydney on the financial outer with the Turnbull Government.
Senator Birmingham said the inner-city school from his home state had failed to comply with financial and accountability standards.
'It is disappointing that after the number of chances this school has been given and the constructive work of the department, the school has still failed to meet the reasonable standards and expectations placed on them,' he said on Thursday.
'This decision has not been taken lightly. However, the department was left with no choice.'
The minister says there has been a constant turnover of board members at the school since 2015.
There were also reports the latest principal had been sacked after the board rejected a proposed takeover by the Perth-based Australian Islamic College.
An American offended a young Muslim when they praised Trump and blasphemed Islam. The Muslim, Mustafa Sahid, approached the men in an aggressive, threatening manner with his fists up in a boxing position and get in their faces. One of the three men punched the Muslim and a scuffle ensued. The Muslim was not seriously injured, but our very political, far-left Deputy DA of Hate Crimes decided to pursue felony hate crime charges against all of the three Americans. The real "crime" these men committed was to blaspheme Islam in a part of the city known as "Little Mogadishu" because several tens of thousand of Somali refugees have been resettled there.
A Muslim man has revealed his life changed the first time he tried bacon after ditching his religion and becoming an atheist.
Author Sami Shah, 38, appeared on Network Ten's The Project to promote his new book, and told Islamic host Waleed Aly about the joys of eating pig - which is banned in Muslim culture.
'I thought I can't do this... and then I took one bite and thought, "I'm never going back",' Mr Shah told Aly.
'I open my day with bacon now. My fridge right now is an entire pig dissected.'
A fascinated Aly asked Mr Shah if he was frightened about trying bacon for the first time because 'some atheists who are Jewish cannot eat pork', but the ex-Islamic comedian assured him it was worth it.
