The FBI reportedly found 2,800 government documents on disgraced former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner's personal laptop computer that were related to his estranged wife's work as Hillary Clinton's deputy chief of staff during her tenure as secretary of state.
The conservative group Judicial Watch reported Tuesday that the State Department received the documents from the FBI after Judicial Watch sued the department when it failed to respond to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
The documents were sent to Weiner's computer by Huma Abedin, a revelation that came to light in the closing days of last year's presidential campaign.
"This is a disturbing development. Our experience with Abedin’s emails suggest these Weiner laptop documents will include classified and other sensitive materials," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. "When will the Justice Department do a serious investigation of Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s obvious violations of law?"
Judicial Watch initially sued the State Department in May 2015, after it failed to respond to a request to produce all official emails sent or received by Abedin using a non-government address.
In a court filing, the State Department said it expected to review and produce the entire cache of 2,800 documents by the end of this year. However, the government filing also suggests that some of the material is "duplicative" of other records that have already been made public.
Last month, Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to sending sexually explicit texts across state lines to a 15-year-old girl. Similar indiscretions, first as a congressman and then as a candidate for New York City mayor, had scuppered Weiner's political career.
Abedin filed for divorce from Weiner earlier this year.

Playboy Magazine announced its November issue will feature the magazine’s first transgender Playmate: French model Ines Rau.
“It’s how I celebrated my coming out, actually,” the model said in a Playboy announcement. “I took that chance, and then I signed with an agency.
The move from Playboy comes just weeks after the death of the magazine’s founder, Hugh Hefner. The media icon died on September 27. The November issue pays tribute to Hefner on the magazine’s cover.
“I always knew from within, when I was a little kid in my room in the ghetto, that a beautiful destiny was waiting for me,” Rau stated. “I don’t know how to explain it. A little voice was telling me, ‘You’ll see. Patience.’ ”
The model claims to be a “tenacious advocate” on a variety of causes but says, “I will always fight for LGBTQ rights and women’s rights, but above everything else, my cause is the environment. Nothing touches me more than fighting against global warming. I was made to fight for the planet—the forest, the animals, the air. If I get famous, that’s my first battle.”
Rau says the photo shoot for Playboy is a compliment. “Am I really going to be a Playmate—me?” Rau asked. “It’s the most beautiful compliment I’ve ever received. It’s like getting a giant bouquet of roses.”

A man live streamed himself in his burning flat after allegedly starting the fire that killed his dog. In the distressing video, he can be seen ranting at the camera as flames begin to engulf the flat in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During the video he accuses his wife of not "caring" about him. It has been claimed that Lopez had been drinking and taking drugs before starting the blaze. He is accused of starting the raging house fire by igniting a barrel of flammable liquid. He fled the scene but was later arrested near La Bombonera stadium, home to the Boca Juniors football team. Fortunately, his wife and child escaped unharmed from the house as it went up in flames. But police say the family's pet dog burnt to death as the fire ripped through the small flat. It is unclear whether Lopez has been charged over the fire, which is being investigated by police. It is also unclear who uploaded the video onto the internet. But viewers slammed Lopez as the footage began to circulate on social media. One internet user called Sandra Zelaya described it as an example of how Argentina had lost its values as a country. It was not clear whether the fire affected nearby properties.

STUNNED researchers have discovered 400 mysterious stone structures in Saudi Arabia which date back thousands of years, it has been revealed.
Experts are still unsure as to the purpose of the structures, but some of them were found to be draped over lava domes – a mound shaped area where lava has dried near volcanoes.
The stone walls, which have been called “gates” as they resemble field gates when viewed aerially, were found in a region in west-central Saudi Arabia called Harrat Khaybar.
David Kennedy, a professor at the University of Western Australia, who helped to discover the gates through satellite imagery, said they "are stone-built, the walls roughly made and low.”
He adds that they "appear to be the oldest man-made structures in the landscape,” and that "no obvious explanation of their purpose can be discerned”.
Fifteen months before the 13 members of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, known as CFIUS, approved the sale of the Canadian company Uranium One to Russia’s nuclear arm giant Rosatom, the FBI began investigating persons who were connected to the Russian state corporation. The FBI said in court documents and in interviews conducted by Circa that by 2010 they had gathered enough evidence to prove that Rosatom-connected officials were engaged in a global bribery schedule that included kickbacks and money laundering. FBI officials said the investigation could have prevented the sale of Uranium One, which controlled 20 percent of U.S. uranium supply under U.S. law.
The deal which required approval by CFIUS, an inter-agency committee who reviews transactions that leads to a change of control of a U.S. business to a foreign person or entity that may have an impact on the national security of the United States. At the time of the Uranium One deal the panel was chaired by then-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and included then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-Attorney General Eric Holder.
By the time CFIUS approved the sale of Uranium One to Rosatom the FBI’s investigation had already gathered substantial evidence of bribery and kickbacks against a Russian national, Vadim Mikerin, who was then a top official with Rosatom’s Tenex subsidiary, according to court documents. The FBI said while at Tenex, which was located in Maryland, Mikerin was involved in multiple bribery and kickback schemes.
In a 2015 affidavit, FBI officials said Mikerin, “with the consent of higher level officials at Tenex and Rosatom (both Russian state-owned entities), would offer no-bid contracts to U.S. businesses in exchange for kickbacks in the form of money...” made to offshore accounts, stated the affidavit in support of a search warrant. Mikerin pled guilty to the allegations.

"I will in my voice, I will in my passion, I will in my money, I will in my resources to my youth and my inner city and outside my inner city to let these kids know that there is hope, there is greater walks of life, and not one individual, no matter if it's the president of the United States...can stop your dreams from becoming a reality," James said.
During the national anthem before the game, all Cavaliers players stood while linking arms, while the Celtics players stood as normal.
In September, after NFL players sparked debate within that league over protests during the national anthem, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he expected NBA players to stand during the national anthem.
"We have a rule that requires our players to stand for the anthem," Silver said. "It's been our rule as long as I've been involved with the league, and my expectation is that our players will continue to stand for the anthem."

On 22 September in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, nearly 1000 soldiers were deployed in the favela of Rocinha. Local traffickers and gangs defended themselves by triggering numerous heavy weapon shootings. One inhabitant filmed one of them from his window.
Soldiers kept patrolling the Rocinha slum in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday where new shootouts erupted early in the morning.
The government deployed the Brazilian army in Rio's largest slum on Friday afternoon after the violence forced authorities to shut roads, close schools and health units and isolate the area for a few hours.
The defence ministry said as many as 950 troops were deployed around the perimeter of Rocinha, where some of the most intense battles took place.
The troops would provide backup so that military police, including elite squads of commandos, could go after traffickers in the hills that make up the sprawling community in the city's south, defense ministry spokesman Raul Jungmann said.
The operation comes just as the city is hosting the Rock in Rio festival, featuring concerts by groups such as Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Military police, tasked with patrolling and going after suspects, had been doing operations in Rocinha since Monday.
The intensity of the firefights - gunshots are often heard in Rio - increased on Friday and erupted in other neighbourhoods, including Alemao, Dona Marta, Vila Kennedy and Chapeu Mangueira.
Several gangs are fighting for predominance in Rocinha and violence also is fed by armed militias of former police and military personnel that sometimes take security into their own hands.
About 8,500 troops were deployed in August to try to curb rising violence a year after Rio hosted the Summer Olympics.
However, the troops have mostly been patrolling, not engaging with traffickers.
“I’d target his businesses, his dumb fuck of a son, Donald Jr., and Eric…
“Target that. Get people to boycott going to his hotels. Boycott… So a lot of the Trump brands, if you can ruin the Trump brand and you put pressure on his business and you start investigating his business and you start shutting it down, or they’re hacking or other things. He cares about his business more than he cares about being President. He would resign. Or he’d lash out and do something incredibly illegal, which he would have to.”

Billionaire investor George Soros has infused his nonprofit apparatus with $18 billion.
The Open Society Foundations will live on long after its founder, thanks to a move by Soros Fund Management LLC, which likely makes it the second-largest philanthropic group behind the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Wall Street Journal confirmed the transfer with foundation officials on Tuesday.
“It’s an ongoing process of migration from a hedge fund toward a pool of capital deployed to support a foundation over the long term,” committee member Bill Ford told the newspaper.
Mr. Soros and his dozens of endeavors across the globe have been lightning rods for criticism due to his support of left-wing causes, which includes the Black Lives Matter movement in the U.S. and relaxed immigration policies.
The billionaire has also been a critic of President Trump.
“I personally am convinced that he is going to fail,” Mr. Soros said in January while at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “Not because of people like me who would like him to fail. But because his ideas that guide him are inherently self-contradictory, and the contradictions are actually already embodied by his advisers … and his Cabinet.”
Mr. Soros declined to comment for The Journal’s report.

Mr. Gonzalez was observed around 3:00 p.m. PDT wearing a jacket and walking “out of the creek area and a plume of smoke behind him,” according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
Mr. Gonzalez, who is homeless and reportedly known by law enforcement to have been living under a nearby bridge, claimed he was cold and had lit the fire to stay warm. But it was a balmy 78 degrees when he and the plume of smoke were first observed.
Mr. Gonzalez was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for suspicion of felony arson. His bail was set at a steep $110,000, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff Public Information Officer.
